Ελένη Λεοντσίνη

Eleni Leontsini is Tenured Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina, Director of the Laboratory of Platonic and Aristotelian Studies and Departmental Erasmus Coordinator. She is International Research Fellow at the Centre for Aristotelian Studies and Critical Theory at Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius, Lithuania. She is also Adjunct Academic Staff at the Hellenic Open University, Visiting Researcher at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, Co-Convenor of the Contemporary Aristotelian Studies Group of the PSA (CAS) and member of the Executive (Central) Committee of the International Society for MacIntyrean Enquiry (ISME). Her research focuses on classical, modern and contemporary Aristotelianism, specializing in Aristotle’s moral and political philosophy. She is the author of "The Appropriation of Aristotle in the Liberal-Communitarian Debate" (with a foreword by R. F. Stalley, Athens: Saripolos Library, 2007, in English). She has co-authored the philosophy textbook "Anthology of Ancient Greek Philosophical Texts" (Athens: OAED, 2009) which is part of the Greek National Curriculum, and she has co-edited (with G. N. Leontsinis) "Kythera: Myth and Reality, vol. 4: Ekklesia, Education, Philosophy"(Kythera, 2003; in Greek) and (with Golfo Maggini) "States and Citizens: Identity, Community, Diversity" (Smili, 2016; in Greek). So far, she has published over 60 papers (in English, Greek and Slovenian) in scholarly journals and edited volumes.
