Plato and the Art of Mockery

In this presentation, I would like to try to answer one of the most pressing questions that comes to mind when dealing with Plato’s relationship to comedy and laughter:

how can we explain that while he strongly condemns comedy, especially the way it harshly satirises people,

Plato nevertheless uses all possible comedic means in (almost) all of his Dialogues, including personal satires and invectives?
